SURF PROGRAMME

A SURF HOLIDAY PROGRAMME FOR KIDS

This holidays we're running a programme for surf-mad kids that love the ocean, beach and the outdoors - that want to hang out with a crew of other likeminded groms, learn ocean safety, skills, and awareness - and play all day long.

Running daily from the House of Surf HQ down at Shark Alley, Main Beach - we have unrivalled access to one of the best locations in the country for kids to play in - and around - the ocean all day long.

Yes it's out of control fun, and there'll be heaps of surfing going down, but it's educational too.

We've created a two week programme where kids will learn how to handle themselves in the surf and stay safe whatever the conditions, why waves break and how they're formed, how tides work, and much more.

Each day the group build their ocean skills, increase their confidence, and learn a bunch in the process.

So if you're a working parent, or if you're just looking for something fun, educational, and safe to nurture your kids this holidays, then this could well be the solution for you.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our Kids Holiday Programme is a flexible service for working parents, or visitors to the area looking for something challenging, exciting, educational, action packed and fun for their kids to do over the holidays.

The program runs from Monday - Friday at our Main Beach site location from 8:30am - 1pm.

With our absolute beach front location and access to Main Beach, Shark Alley & Muscle Rock (not to mention Leisure and Rabbit Island) we have a natural playground on our doorstep.

An unrivalled location, with access to it all!

A TYPICAL DAY...

8:30: THE DROP OFF

We'll be organised and ready for a swift drop-off for parents.

Just check in with an instructor, get your wetsuit and surfboard allocated to you and we'll take care of the rest from there.

9-10:30AM: ACTIVITY 1

Activities include: Surfing, surf skating, hot pools, rabbit island discovery missions, beach games, theoretical lessons, beach safety education, beach clean ups, jetty jumping in Pilot Bay and walks up or around the Mount. All depends on the weather.

10:30-10:45AM: LUNCH BREAK

Food, plenty of water, rest in the shade.

10:45 - 11:15AM: OCEAN SKILLS/ OCEAN AWARENESS 

We're committed to making sure that every kid that comes to us leaves better equipped to handle themselves, and stay safe in the ocean.

Each day after morning tea the kids will be guided through our be safety and ocean awareness program arming them with skills they can take with them for a lifetime.

11:15- 12:45PM: ACTIVITY 2 

Activities include: Surfing, surf skating, hot pools, rabbit island discovery missions, beach games, theoretical lessons, beach safety education, beach clean ups, jetty jumping in Pilot Bay and walks up or around the Mount. All depends on the weather.

12:45-1PM: WRAP UP 

Finishing circle where the groups summarize the day and plan for tomorrow.

1PM: PICK UP TIME

We'll round up the troops and get all their gear on time ready to be picked up, with sandy feet, and full of stoke...

...ready to do it all again the next day.

WHERE IT ALL TAKES PLACE

The House of Surf HQ overlooks Shark Alley at Main Beach - the go-to learn to surf location on the entire East Coast.

This is where we'll be indulging in all our beach activities each day.
