A HOLIDAY PROGRAM FOR SURF-MAD KIDS THAT WANT TO PUSH THEMSELVES, SURF LIKE CRAZY & IMPROVE!
We wanted to create something a little different...
Something that steers away from the cookie-cutter generic coaching of traditional surf schools teaching the absolute basics to the masses - cattle class style.
And instead offer something high level and technical, that's focused on surf progression only.
No fluff, none of the basics, no babysitting.
Just a coaching service for frothing kids that are hooked on surfing, and want to improve.
This is the service I wish I had as a kid, and we're stoked to be able to pilot this program this Easter Holidays.
INTRODUCING THE KIDS SURF 'SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE' HOLIDAY PROGRAM!
The 'School of Excellence' Holiday Program is for kids aged between 8 - 14 that are already comfortable surfing unassisted in waves up to around 3 - 4ft, that have their own equipment, and have all the basics dialled.
If you're not quite there yet that's all good, we have something for you here.
But if that is you, then you're in for a treat!
Five days of non-stop technical surfing, filmed and broken down by an expert coach throughout.
The program runs from Monday - Friday at the House of Surf HQ main site location from 8:30am - 1pm.
VIDEO ANALYSIS
Each session will be filmed, ready for in depth technical breakdowns after each session.
EXPERT COACHING
Our coaches have a huge amount of experience, and will be able to dissect, give feedback and advice to fix any bad habits and learn new tricks.
SOCIAL PROOF
In a collaborative environment surrounded by other surf mad kids progression is accelerated.
A TYPICAL DAY...
8:30 - 1OAM: DROP OFF & FROTH!
Quick de-brief and goal setting on the beach, some fitness training (maybe), stretching, then we'll hit the water - surfing to pre-defined targets with feedback throughout.
10:00 - 10:30AM: VIDEO ANALYSIS
We'll round up all of the groms and head back to the HQ for the technical breakdown of the session.
Frame by frame, in slow motion and high zoom, we'll go deep into uncovering any blind spots and figure out a pathway to progression.
10:30 - 11AM: RECHARGE
By this time the kids will be tired and hungry, so we'll stop for a recharge and refuel.
11:00 - 12PM: SURF
Back in the water we go - working on new techniques, and new tricks.
12:00 - 12:30PM: AFTERNOON TEA
After surf number two we'll break for a few minutes to eat and drink, before wrapping things up with the final session of video breakdown.
12:30 - 1PM VIDEO BREAKDOWN
We'll hit the screens once again to dissect the mid morning surf.
1PM PICK UP
With kids aching and exhausted, 1pm is time to round things up ready to get some rest and relaxation before we do the whole thing again the next day!
WHERE IT ALL TAKES PLACE
The House of Surf HQ overlooks Shark Alley at Main Beach, and we have our pick of the spots from Main Beach, The Blow-Hole, Shark Alley, Mussle Rock, Freaky Peaks and Pacific Ave.

FAQ'S
It's expected that each kid will already have their own equipment, but if you need to borrow any from the school that's fine, just reach out and let us know in advance.
If your child isn't confident in the water then this isn't the right holiday program for you.
We have something that caters for kids earlier on in the learning cycle here.
The group size is capped at x12 kids.
Yup, it's a mixed program for boys and girls.
Everyone's welcome 
Unfortunately not.
This camp is for kids that already have the basics dialled and are confident surfing unassisted.
All coaching will be carried out from the beach, so there will be no in water assistance.
