Good surfers don't surf all rigid, and stone-like, they bend, stretch, and glide through each motion with effortless grace.
Sure, some of this agility comes down to good genetics, but a whole lot of it comes down to looking after the body, maintaining it, working to keep it loose and limber.
It doesn't just happen by chance.
But what should you do? Yoga, Pilates, Zumba...
The list goes on, and each has their own merit don't get me wrong, but, none of them are designed specifically for surfers.
For the range of motions that are unique to the sport, and the specific muscle groups that are so vital for surfing in general - and for staying injury free.
But we think we've found a solution, and a pretty neat one at that
Surf-Stretch is a 5-Week Program created from the ground up to take a small group of likeminded women from tight, stiff, fragile and weak, to loose, limber and agile, with stamina to boot
With the whole thing centred around surfing, and surfing only, with a concrete actionable journey that anyone can take - regardless of where you're at right now.
All ages, all sizes.
Week by week the group will be guided through a unique journey sequentially opening up the body: hips, shoulders, neck & back - systematically regaining increased range in movement.
And by the end of it...
You'll leave the program more flexible than you've been in years, feeling youthful, supple, grounded and strong - with a full-body stretch system you can take away with you that's yours for a lifetime.
WHAT TO EXPECT
First up, we'll identify the key body areas of interest that we'll be working on over the five weeks.
Each session we'll go deep into a specific body zone, building up range, and increasing stamina throughout.
With each week building on the last you'll begin to feel the body opening up, with a range of motion likely not felt for years slowly starting to come back.
Step by step, week by week, rebuilding a new & improved dynamic version of you.
Returning always with a lazer-like focus to the sport of surfing.

We approach surf coaching a little differently to most...
To us, surfing is more than just pop-ups and cutbacks. Sure, these things are important (and we cover them in depth of course), but there's just so much more to surfing than this.
That's why we take a more holistic approach - using surfing as the medium to empower kids in all areas of their lives.
Which is why we centre all our programs around our unique eight-pillar system that focuses on far more than technique alone, to create a safe and nurturing space for kids to push themselves and enjoy everything surfing has to offer.
The 8-Pillar Method
Due to the structured nature of the program, and the week by week journey the group will be on, we aren't able to offer make up lessons.
However, we back up each in-person lesson with thorough, in-depth breakdown's in our online learning portal. That way, even if you miss a session, you'll have access to all the teaching online as a back up.
If it's raining we'll have to cancel the session. We'll make up the session on another session date.
Unfortunately not, full payment is required before commencing the program.
Yes. each program follows a curriculum which has been thoroughly researched to give you the biggest transformation in your 5 weeks with us.
Even if you can't touch your toes, or struggle with mobility, all good. Although we'll pushing you each step of the way, we encourage you to take things at your own pace.
All our sessions will take place at the House of Surf HQ: Opposite 27 Marine Parade, Mount Maunganui.
Bring along a yoga mat if you have one, or a towel if not. Water, sunscreen, a hat, and good vibes.
Your lesson will ALWAYS begin on time. So if you're running late just get yourself set up and join in with the rest of the crew.
